And so, 20 pages in. Ada meets Daniel.
Finally, the story begins. At least, the story that I dreamt about a couple of weeks ago. Now, in my dreams the journey that Ada and Daniel embark on has a very clear direction, with a specific destination.
However, in my NaNoWriMo 2013 novel, “Love Me, Crazy,” (Publication date TBA Very soon!!) I also had a clear idea of what I wanted to happen. When I began typing that novel, my heart was set on a beautiful love story set in Bristol. It was supposed to be charming and witty. Unfortunately, Audrey – my main character – had other ideas. Oh my word, the skeletons she found in the closet! She secrets she uncovered! The danger she got herself into! That story ended up literally nothing like the one I envisioned myself writing.
Therefore, just because this story is about a sweet shop, does not mean this is destined to be a lovely innocent tale. Anything can happen, Daniel could be a secret agent for all I know? Only Ada can show me.
Today, Ada introduced me to her dog, a Poochon of course. It’s name is Potato of all things! (It just came to me!) And oh how fun it was to write about her dog.
Also, a thrilling new experience for me – flirting. The playful banter of exchanging witty remarks and the smiling, the body-language, the awkwardness…it was so fun to write about.
I ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger and feel I could write more, but alas my body fails me. Busy day tomorrow and I need my strength. Therefore I’m not burning the candle at both ends today and giving myself a good opportunity to write some decent work tomorrow. I’m supposed to be on 10,000 words by now. I’m not even close!
Still, we’ll see how this all pans out.
